My Nightmare Before Christmas Musical Interlude Card

Over at the Burtonesque Dolls Blog this weeks challenge was to make a card using one of three of chosen songs from the movie Nightmare  before christmas. As I am a big fan of this film and so is my eldest daughter Honor I could not resist making a card for this challenge. I picked the song "Kidnap The Sandy Claws".
 Here is my Finished card:)
If you enjoy My card don't forget to vote for it :)

I started with a black 6x6 base card
I then found the music sheet for Kidnap Sandy Claws and printed it out on parchment
I then ripped it and inked the edges making it my background for the card
I cut the title with fiskers Majestic paper edgers then inked the edges
I found a genic coloring image on the net for my trio
I colored them with Prisma colored pencils and
trimmed the edge with the Fiskars Majestic paper edgers
Then I inked the edges
I surrounded the image with lace from AC Moore
I laid down a layer of red ribbon at the bottom of the card
Then I added the Crochet flower which was made by Shannin
(over at shanninscreativecorner.blogspot.com)
Her link is on my page on the left side.
I added my word and my card was complete:)

Steam Punk ATC

So I think I have had the hardest challenge yet to date. I signed up for a Steam punk swap in one of my CM Groups really not knowing what steam punk was. After looking it up and getting a little bit of a concept I thought to myself this would be a good challenge. I had never done anything like this before it is different and some artist had created some really cool ATC's using this method. OH BOY!! What was I thinking:) It truly turned out to be one of my biggest challenges to date. I sat in front of my design for weeks moving things changing things just not happy with anything. I finally came up with a designed I was satisfied with not I said satisfied not thrilled to death head over heal in love. Just satisfied. I think I have been defeated by the concept of steam punk. Is that possible LOL:) Well we all must have our kryptonite and I believe Steam punk is mine LOL!! So without further hesitation here is my Card:)

KIte ATC and Card

We are flying kites today.Even though it is a rainy day here for me in NC. My craft cave is brimming with kite flying time. I was challenge two times in a row on one of my CM groups to create items with Kites on them. Well after spending some time dancing in the rain with my daughter Liberty(who by the way did not like getting wet at first) but after going in changing then getting and umbrella she came back out LOL. I remember as a child in Puerto Rico (we would go there in the summer) we couldn't wait till it rained so we could go out and play in it.WOW time sure have changed. Well it was nice to enjoy the rain on my face and think of child hood days gone by.
Well now for my creations for the day. I have an ATC and a Card for you today:) Hope you Enjoy. Have and great day and CREATE GREAT ART!!

The Finished Cake

Well after a long day of baking and decorating I am finally done and the cake is with it's new owners. They were very pleased with the results of how it turned out so I am happy.  Before I post the pictures I would like to thank who ever sent me the purse in the box swap we did in CCM. It sure came in handy today. I went up to my Craft Cave to make one. Then I remembered about the box swap so i went thru all of them and low and behold there was a purse shaped one. Even in the colors I need what luck:) That saved me time so props to you !! All I had to do was make my letters and Happy Birthday and not a purse now:) It was definitely a long day:) Well here is my Finished cake:) Have a great night everyone!!And create great ART!!

Happy Friday!!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week. I know I have. It has not been hectic I have been home and those are always good days:)I have been creating several cards this week. Which I have showed you several. I do not want to reveal the HP cards until they are all complete. So we will still be holding off on those. As for today hopefully I will be able to get in there a little later this even and post one.But I will be spending this day creating a cake. Yes I said a cake:) For some of you that know me real well I like to dabble in cake decorating. Well a friend came to me last night in crisis the baker that was supposed to bake her nieces Birthday cake backed out on them last min. Really not cool!! Well she found out that I make cakes( Husband with a big mouth) and has asked me to make the cake for this little girls 6th Birthday. So I will be in my kitchen today instead of the Craft Cave creating a Cake Master piece insert giggle here. No I am actually not bad. I showed her other cakes I have done and she liked them. I will post a picture of my finished masterpiece. Well until then everyone have a wonderful day and CREAT GREAT ART!!
